Complaints

Complaints regarding products or our activities may be submitted at:

E-mail: info@gedomi.hu

Complaints may be submitted in writing or verbally. Verbal complaints are investigated immediately where possible. If the Consumer disagrees or immediate investigation is not possible, we record the complaint and provide a copy. Written complaints and those received by e-mail are responded to within 30 days. Rejected complaints are accompanied by reasons. Complaints received by phone or electronic means are assigned a unique identifier.

If the Consumer refuses to provide data or sign the record, we are relieved of the obligation to provide a written response.

The complaint record must contain:

  • Place, method and time of the complaint
  • Consumer's name, address or e-mail address, contact details
  • Detailed description of the complaint, with a list of supporting documents
  • Our position on the complaint, if immediate investigation is possible
  • Place and time of recording
  • Signature of the person recording and — if in person — of the Consumer
  • Unique identifier (for complaints submitted by phone or electronic means)

Complaint records and copies of responses are retained for 5 years and made available to supervisory authorities upon request.

If we reject a complaint, we inform the Consumer in writing which authority or Conciliation Board they may turn to, including the relevant contact details.

Consumer protection authority

Complaints may be filed with the National Trade and Consumer Protection Authority (NKFH) or the competent district office: http://jarasinfo.gov.hu/

Court proceedings

The Consumer may enforce claims before a court under Act V of 2013 and Act CXXX of 2016.

Conciliation Board proceedings

If we reject a complaint, the Consumer may turn to the Conciliation Board competent for their place of residence or domicile, provided they have first attempted direct resolution with us.

We are subject to a cooperation obligation: we must submit a written response and participate in hearings.

The Conciliation Board may issue a binding decision — even without a submission declaration — if the Consumer's claim does not exceed HUF 250,000 and the claim is well-founded.

Non-compliance may result in fines of HUF 15,000–500,000 for SMEs, or up to 5% of annual net revenue (max. HUF 500,000,000) for large companies.

To initiate proceedings, the Consumer submits a written request to the Board's President, containing:

  • Consumer's name, place of residence/domicile, contact details
  • Name and registered address of the company
  • Consumer's position and supporting evidence
  • Statement of attempted direct resolution
  • Statement that no parallel proceedings have been initiated
  • The requested decision
  • Consumer's signature

Supporting documents must be attached. If a representative acts, a power of attorney must be included.

Consumer information pursuant to Government Decree 45/2014 (II.26.)

Right of withdrawal — general rule

A Consumer is exclusively a natural person acting outside their trade, business or profession. Legal entities do not have the right of withdrawal without reason.

The Consumer has the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason, pursuant to Section 20 of Government Decree 45/2014 (II.26.). Withdrawal may also be exercised between the date of contract conclusion and the date of receipt.

Withdrawal is exercised by a clear written statement (e-mail to info@gedomi.hu) or using the model withdrawal form in Annex 2 of Government Decree 45/2014 (II.26.). The Consumer may also use the online withdrawal function in the webshop. Withdrawal is timely if the statement is sent within the 14-day period. The burden of proof lies with the Consumer.

We confirm receipt of the withdrawal electronically.

Right of withdrawal — exclusion for made-to-order products

A significant part of the products available in our webshop — including but not limited to printed t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, printed photographs, mugs, caps, and other printed or custom-decorated merchandise — are manufactured exclusively on the basis of the Consumer's individual order, according to their chosen specifications. As these goods do not exist as pre-made stock and are produced solely for the individual purchaser, the right of withdrawal does not apply to them pursuant to Article 29(1)(c) of Government Decree 45/2014 (II.26.).

By placing an order for any such product, the Consumer expressly acknowledges and accepts that the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised for that item.

This exclusion applies only to the made-to-order items within an order. Any other products in the same order that are not manufactured to individual specifications remain subject to the standard 14-day right of withdrawal.

Liability for diminished value

The Consumer is liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Our refund obligation upon withdrawal

Upon valid withdrawal, we refund the full amount paid, including standard shipping costs, within 14 days of receiving the withdrawal notice. We are not obliged to refund the excess cost of a non-standard shipping method. Refunds use the same payment method as the original transaction unless otherwise agreed; no additional fees apply. We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or proof of return.

Consumer's obligations upon withdrawal

The Consumer must return the goods no later than 14 days after notifying us of withdrawal. The direct cost of return shipping is borne by the Consumer. We do not accept cash-on-delivery or postage-due returns.

Cases where the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised

In addition to made-to-order products listed above, the right of withdrawal also does not apply to:

  • Sealed goods not suitable for return due to health or hygiene reasons, unsealed after delivery
  • Perishable goods or goods with a short shelf life
  • Sealed audio/video recordings or computer software unsealed after delivery
  • Digital content not supplied on a physical medium, if supply began with the Consumer's prior express consent
  • Services fully performed before the withdrawal period expires, with the Consumer's prior express consent
  • Newspapers, periodicals or magazines (except subscription contracts)
  • Goods inseparably mixed with other goods after delivery
  • Contracts concluded at public auctions
  • Accommodation, car rental, catering, leisure services with a specific performance date
  • Urgent repair or maintenance services explicitly requested by the Consumer

Implied warranty, product warranty, guarantee — consumer contracts

Prepared pursuant to Section 9(3) of Government Decree 45/2014 (II.26.), Annex 3. Applies exclusively to Consumers.

Implied warranty

You may assert an implied warranty claim against us in the event of defective performance under the Civil Code and Government Decree 373/2021 (VI.30.). You may request repair or replacement, unless impossible or disproportionately costly. If neither is available, you may request a price reduction or withdraw. You may switch between remedies but bear the cost unless the switch was justified or caused by us.

Report defects promptly and no later than 2 months after discovery. Limitation period: 2 years from performance. Within 1 year of performance, the defect is presumed to have existed at delivery (unless incompatible with the nature of the goods or defect). After 1 year, you must prove the defect existed at delivery.

Product warranty

For defective movable goods you may alternatively assert a product warranty claim (repair or replacement only) against the manufacturer or distributor, within 2 years of the product being placed on the market. You must prove the defect. The manufacturer is exempt if the defect was undetectable at placement on the market, results from a mandatory legal requirement, or the product was not manufactured in the course of business. The same defect cannot be asserted simultaneously under implied warranty and product warranty.

Guarantee

Mandatory guarantee applies to new durable consumer goods listed in Government Decree 151/2003 (IX.22.) with a purchase price of at least HUF 10,000 (or EUR equivalent). Also extends to SMEs acquiring goods outside their business activity for own use.

Duration:

  • Up to HUF 250,000 (or EUR equivalent): 2 years
  • Above HUF 250,000 (or EUR equivalent): 3 years

For products below HUF 100,000 equivalent, a guarantee certificate is not mandatory but an obligation to inform remains. The certificate must include: serial number or other product identifier; date of contract; date of handover or commissioning.

Guarantee claims may be submitted by e-mail to info@gedomi.hu.

We endeavour to complete repairs within 15 days of receipt. If repair or replacement takes longer, we inform you of the expected timeframe. If the goods cannot be repaired on first attempt, we replace within 8 days; if impossible, we refund within 8 days. If we cannot repair within 30 days and you do not agree to a later date, we replace within 8 days; if impossible, we refund within 8 days.

Three-working-day replacement: If you report a malfunction within 3 working days of purchase or commissioning that prevents normal use, we replace within 8 days without investigating the cause. If replacement is impossible, we refund immediately.

After a third repair failure, you may request further repair, a proportionate price reduction, or repair at our cost. If you make no statement, we replace within 8 days; if impossible, we refund within 8 days.

We are exempt from guarantee obligations if we prove the defect arose after performance. The same defect cannot be asserted simultaneously under implied warranty and guarantee, or product warranty and guarantee.

Implied warranty, product warranty, guarantee — non-consumer purchasers

Non-consumer purchasers may request repair or replacement, or if unavailable, a price reduction or withdrawal. Limitation period: 1 year from performance. Non-consumer purchasers are not entitled to mandatory product warranty or guarantee, unless we voluntarily provide one or the manufacturer extends their guarantee.

By accepting these GTC, the purchaser consents to receiving information electronically.
